Mr. Robert Mullen

MULLEN - Bob, 69, of Dorchester, passed away at his home on Oct. 2, 2016.

He worked as a pipefitter for many years, but will be most remembered as a devoted, kind and big-hearted family man. He was a man proud of his Irish heritage and his Dorchester and Southie roots. He was always ready to lend a hand whenever needed. He was an avid sports fan and played football for the Dorchester Park League.

The son of the late James and Margaret (Dillon) and nephew of the late Kay and Fitzy Fitzpatrick.

Bob is survived by his wife Rita Haney, his daughter Andrea and her husband Daniel Litvak and his grandchildren, Benjamin Daniel and Julia Marie; siblings Bernard Mullen, Catherine Taglieri, Patricia Belliveau, Maryann Hunt, Michael Ryan, Julie Ryan, Robert Gaston and Diane Cronin, Louise Cooper, Rose and Brian King; also many special relationships too numerous to name.

Bob was preceded in death by James and Ellen Mullen, Margaret Hansen, Jackie Mullen, Sam Cooper, and Daniel Gaston of Dorchester.

His big heart and generosity will be greatly missed.

Visiting Hours will be held from the McHoul Family Funeral Home, 354 Adams Street, Dorchester, MA on Wednesday Oct. 5, from 4 – 8 pm.

A Mass of Christian Burial with be held Thursday, Oct. 6, from St. Brendan Parish, 589 Gallivan Blvd. Dorchester, MA at 10:15 am. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
