Walai Boodram

–

Boston, Massachusetts

With heavy hearts and profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Walai Boodram, also known as Grandma Jessie, who departed this life on October 12, 2026, just five days shy of her 89th birthday.

Walai was a beloved, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, daughter, and sister. She was a grandmother figure to many and loved by many friends and family. Her 88 years of life were filled with family, faith, and love.

Walai was a woman whose greatest legacy was the beautiful family she leaves behind. She was the loving mother of six children: Rajin (Daisy), Buddy (Sil), Helen (Randolph), Bridge, Rudy (Lilgyal), and Sabi (Siew).

She was the proud grandmother of six grandchildren: Rupa, Shelly (Gene), Devi (Darnell), Kevin (Sara), Sandeep, and Shawn (Jasmyn). Her love continued through her nine great-grandchildren: Trinity (Ashley), Zion, Saniyah, Angelina, Victoria, Layla, Jayson, Tsion, and Julian. Walai was also blessed with becoming a great-great-grandmother to Kai and Saint, allowing her to witness five generations of her family's love.

Walai is survived by her beloved siblings: Edith, Alverne, Angie, Yvonne, and James.

Walai was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David, her brothers Alfred and Fly, and her beloved daughter-in-law, Pamela. We take comfort in the thought that she is now reunited with those who departed before her.

While we mourn her passing, we also celebrate the remarkable life she lived, the family she nurtured, and the countless memories that will forever keep her close to our hearts.

Five generations. One beautiful legacy. A lifetime of love.
